Roadrunners on bikes unite! Like to ride bikes? Want to learn how to fix them? Down with pedal-powered adventures around Traverse City? Well, The Bike Más Project is just for you.
The Bike Más Project is a 5 week, Safe Routes To School funded after-school club for 3rd, 4th + 5th graders at Traverse Heights. We’ll learn how to fix and maintain our bikes, how to handle our bikes better, how to ride on neighborhood streets safely. And we’ll have tons of FUN doing it! We’ll eat lots of snacks too.
WHEN? Wednesdays after school from 4:00 – 5:30 starting September 23rd. Last day is October 21st.
WHO? The program is limited to 5 4th/5th grade students and aims to create Bike Champion Ambassadors at Traverse Heights. If we exceed 5 applicants, Traverse Heights teachers/administration will select.
WHAT IS NEEDED? Just a bike and a helmet. A limited number of previously loved bicycles are available through our Norte! Kids Bike Library. Details HERE.
HOW MUCH? Thanks to a Michigan Fitness Foundation/Michigan DOT Safe Routes To School Grant, this super awesome program is free. Yes, FREE!
Interested students need to complete THIS FORM.
