The West Middle Empire Builder is a Norte! Bike Train connecting The Village at Grand Traverse Commons Neighborhood to West Middle School for Bike To School Fridays.

The Empire Builder departs from its Station on the Buffalo Ridge Trail across from The ISD Parking lot (1100 Silver Dr.) at 7:15. The Station is also located at the end of the dirt trail that starts at 14th St./Division (see video below).

With a nod to Amtrak’s Empire Builder, this bike train enjoys a beautiful ride through The Commons onto the Buffalo Ridge Trail to West Middle School.

About a 3km ride.

The Empire Builder will arrive back at its Station at 3:00.

A Norte! volunteer will lead The Empire Builder both to and from school. Parents are responsible for getting their child to The Empire Builder Station on time as well as picking them up there after school.

Our trains pride themselves on being punctual. We can’t be late for school therefore The Empire Builder will not wait for anyone.

Bike To School Fridays rules apply:

Helmets required.
Safe riding mandatory.
Smiles and High Fives encouraged.

Please email Paul Crowley, the Empire Builder’s chief Conductor, at crowleyPa@tcaps.net if you’re planning on riding The Empire Builder.
