Join Norte! as we ride bicycles to The Watershed Center‘s family swim and picnic at Greilickville Harbor Park, Friday, July 31. Bring your lunch, your swimsuit, the kids and let’s enjoy a slow, chit-chatty ride to swim in the beautiful water that surrounds us.
Friday, July 31.
Meet at F&M Park at 11:30, or The Open Space at 11:40 or Darrow Park at 11:45. Just hop of our bicycle train as we roll by.
CAN YOU REALLY RIDE YOUR BIKE TO THE GREILICKVILLE HARBOR PARK?
Yep! We’ll ride the TART Trail north and then take the “secret trail” behind The Watershed Center. We’ll cross M22 together. Easy.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
A helmet. Lunch for the picnic. Your swimming suit. A towel. Beach toys. Maybe some sunscreen. Whatev’ you can jam into your backpack.
Si! Of course. Everyone – young, old and in between – is welcome.
WILL JOHN NELSON BE THERE?
Yes, yes he will. And we’re going to jump in the bay with him to celebrate his retirement as our Baykeeper this December. Awesome, right?
The Watershed Center has a 20 year history of protecting and preserving Grand Traverse Bay and its 1,000-square-mile watershed through on-the-ground projects, public education and advocacy. They are celebrating our region’s swimmable waters during Swimmable Water Weekend July 31 – Aug 2.
