In partnership with the Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities, Michigan Climate Action Network, TC350, Michigan Environmental Council, SEEDS, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, LIAA, NMEAC, and Citizens’ Climate Lobby, we are excited to host this super fun and awfully slow community ride on Thursday, October 6th to see former Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell speak.
Mr. Heartwell is coming to Traverse City to share his experiences at the Paris climate talks and to discuss how cities can take local action in the fight against global climate change.
Meet at the Open Space at 6:30. We’ll roll east on the TART Trail, under Murchie bridge to F&M Park and then down Washington Street to Central United Methodist Church.
Extra bike racks will be provided at the church. Make sure to bring a light for the ride home.
No bike? No problem. Walking is cool too. Same meeting time/place but a shorter route via Union Street.
Big props to Oryana Community Co-op, and Central United Methodist Church’s Creation Stewards Ministry for sponsoring this event.
